All mechanical systems have a certain life expectancy and irrigation and water harvesting systems are no exception. The real cost of an irrigation or water harvesting system is not simply what you pay to have it designed and installed. The real cost of an irrigation or water harvesting system is the design and installation expenses plus the on-going maintenance cost over the expected life of the system(s).

As part of the planning of a new irrigation or water harvesting project (or prior to purchasing an existing irrigation or water harvesting system) we recommend a BGC system life cycle analysis.

At BCG we have developed 2 system life-cycle analysis models – one for existing systems and one for new system designs.

Existing Systems

An existing irrigation or water harvesting system may have been well designed and well maintained or it may be riddled with problems that may be very expensive to repair. A BGC system life-cycle analysis for existing systems will help expose current and potential problems, include a plan to address the identified problems and an estimated cost to complete the necessary repairs or upgrades. Our system life-cycle analysis will provide an estimated life expectancy of the system as well as a recommended maintenance plan.

New Systems

A BGC system life-cycle analysis for new irrigation or water harvesting systems will review the proposed system(s) to calculate the estimated cost to design, install, maintain and upgrade over the life of the system(s). Our system life-cycle analysis will provide an estimated life expectancy of the system as well as a recommended maintenance plan.
